SPRING WORKSHOP SERIES
MARCH, APRIL, MAY 2018
Three Spring Qigong workshops. One Saturday a month. 3/3, 4/7 & 5/5. People came to one, two or all three.
Workshop1: Buds are Arising
The earth's crust breaks as new life emerges from beneath the ground. Irresistible life force. Unstoppable. Spring is a time of rebirth, renewal, beginnings and reaffirmation of our intrinsic vitality and strength Come for a little brush off, freshening up or waking up from the natural contraction of winter.
Workshop 2: Watering and Feeding
Qigong practice helps you relax and reconnect and re-member your deepest intentions. In this workshops we will return to (or begin) this practice which nourishes and sustains us. Water and nurture the sprouts that began so tenderly in the new season. Return to the inspiration, again and again. Commit to sustainable well-being and ease.
Workshop 3: Spring in full bloom
As things start to heat up and we ramp up for full summer expression, it is easy to lose our balance as we extend ourselves. Qigong practice helps us find stillness in the midst of movement, find balance in the inescapable whirlwind of activities that is our life.
Attending to the Body:
First Portal to Awakening
FOUR CLASS QIGONG AND MEDITATION SERIES IN THE VIPASSANA BUDDHIST TRADITION
October 25th to November 15th 2017
Description
In the Buddha’s main instructions on mindfulness, the Satipatthana sutta, he described four areas to pay attention to if we wanted to be free from stress and suffering. In this class series we’ll focus on the first area, mindfulness of the body, by practicing Qigong as a form of mindful movement.
Martine was inspired with the idea for this class while doing walking meditation on retreat with Bhikkhu Analayo, and tried it out when leading Qigong at the recent SBMG residential retreat. This class series will lead you in ways to be mindful of the body. One of these ways is the “four elements” which was the theme of last year’s Qigong class series.
During each class session Qigong, seated meditation, and dharma discussion will be integrated, leading to deeper access to wisdom and compassion. No special skills, abilities or equipment are necessary to participate.

8 Expressions of Qi
8 weeks
AUGUST 30 - OCTOBER 18 2017
This is an 8 week Radiant Heart Qigong class series. In the Chinese culture which Qigong was born in, 8 is a very lucky number and signifies success and fortune. Each of the 8 weeks will focus on one of the 8 Expressions of Qi. By the end of 8 weeks, participants will feel quite comfortable with the Radiant Heart Qigong series and the flowing movements of 8 Expressions of Qi sequence.
May we have much success (and joy!) after practicing the 8 expressions over 8 weeks!
